5th Grade Level Math Course Description
This math course is offered to 5th graders. Students will cover content from the Pearson enVision Math Program.
Students taking this course will take the 5th Grade Math STAAR Test in the spring.
Students are notified of a test at least a week in advance and are provided a study guide.
Students entering 5th grade are expected to have their times tables mastered and a basic understanding of:
-multi-digit multiplication (2 x 2)
-long division (1 digit divisors)
- fractions (add and subtract common denominators, find equivalent fractions, compare fractions).
Students interested in a challenge will be provided with opportunities to explore 6th grade math concepts.
